absolutly!!! i love my honda civic. i know a guy still driving his honda and it's got 300,000 miles on it! they run forever. Same with Volkswagons. my bf drives a jetta its got over 200,000 miles on it, and it runs great! he hasn't has to put any money into it.
The only thing about foreign cars, is if something goes wrong its usually about twice as much to fix it. but the cars just running longer, and are also worth more money when you try to resell. meaning they hold their value. hope i helped!

Hondas are very good cars. They are very fuel economical. Gas is only going to get more expensive, so why not get a car that is good on gas? Their resale value is one of the highest. If you want to trick out your honda, there is alot of companies that make rims, body kits and such for hondas. The parts to fix your car are cheaper too. A lot of hondas use the same parts and are interchangeable. Plus they are so common that the parts are cheap. Also a lot of mechanics are familiar with them. Hondas are built for 250,000 miles or more! Just keep up on the maintenance, and your honda will drive for a long time.

japanese cars are the most reliable out there and are known for it. honda and nissan are the most reliable makes. honda engines are exellent and can do 250,000+ miles, even the 1.4L. i have owned a civic and did 20,000 miles, without servicing, and not a single problem.
very rarely do honda engines ever go wrong. the most unreliable are french cars (say statistics), vauxhalls (before 2000) are problem cars in most cases. |

The question is somewhat subjective. Any company can make good and bad cars (it is sometimes a moderate case of gambling). However, there are companies that have a superior track record of producing higher quality and more reliable vehicles compared to others. Notable examples would be Honda, Toyota, Acura, Lexus, BMW, Volvo, Saab (pre-2003), Subaru. I'm sure I missed a few. Keep in mind that cars are built by humans (not infallible) and therefore can be hit or miss. I know of Hondas that have had major powertrain breakdowns in less than 20,000 miles from in-service date. I have also heard of GM vehicles that have had more than 400,000 miles on them as well. So it really is a game of luck. Overall though from my personal and family experience with Hondas, they have been extremely reliable. Other than the faulty transmission design in the 1999-2001 Honda Odyssey minivans, we have experienced no real problems with our Hondas. Our family combined has owned about 8 Hondas over the last 15 years (3 of which we are currently using). we owned one Toyota and that was a pleasant experience as well. Currently my brother drives a Nissan Altima, and I'm happy to say that it has performed well mechanically (although the interior is kind of cheap). I currently own two Volkswagens (97 Passat with 200K and 03 GTI with 114K) that have both been very reliable overall. I would say that at the end of the day that buying cars is luck of the draw, however Honda or Toyota would be a very good bet given their track record for reliability.
