This is bad I know, I bought this nice car a month ago, it had just had an oil change. My partner took it for a week long trip where he drove all around the state (he didn't check it once)...yesterday, the oil light started flashing and when I checked the oil there was none there. I added 3 quarts of 5w 20 and there are no markings on the dipstick except two holes, it is reading between the two and the oil light went out.































Question, Did I add too much oil?































Also, did I wreck my nice new car? : (















The temp gauge never looked abnormal and the car ran fine.

Ummm, how far was the trip, how many miles does the engine have, well If the light went out then its cool, your lucky you didn't blow your head, or u could of got a hole in your block, that what happen to my friend he was drivin his civic on 1 quart, and he drives hard, he didin check his oil for a few weeks and he got a hole on his block and blew all his valves

You've got a nice oil leak going on. The easier way to find the leak is putting a dry piece of cardboard underneath the engine and leaving it there all night.































You actually added the correct amount of oil. The two dots represent 1 quart of oil.































I'd do a fresh oil change before the next 1000 miles and you'll be fine.
