It would be cheaper to put a bigger engine in.

the engine would also have to come out ,lower compression piston's. stronger botton end ect then there's up rating your brakes. and if your engine is carb's then it will be a lot harder, can be done.

You will damage the engine with that much boost. Most factory turbos only have 7 to 8 pounds of boost.

To handle that boost you will need lower compression pistons to stop engine knocks, and multiple gas explosions when the piston is being forced up by the cam shaft.

Then you will need an after market air cooler. The higher the turbo boost the higher the temprature of the boosted air. Hot air is an enemy of performance. Even factory Ford turbos have an air intercooler.

The suspension will need upgrading to handle the extra power and stress.

Thje brakes will need upgrading. They will wear out faster and there is brake fading. After hard work they loose effieceny and do not work as well. You need to worry about your 60 to 0 times more than your 0 to 60 times. Or you will have alot of crashes and some will be serious!

Then you will need to worry about upgrading the transmission to handle the power.

Save your self all these problems by limiting the boost to 10 pounds or less. You will still need an air cooler.

Get a K&N Air Filter Cold Air Kit, it will give you an instant horsepower and torque gains. A better exhaust system and aftermarket chip will give good horsepower and torque gains.

I would not recomend getting a turbo, Honda engines don't handle boost well. Swapping the engine is the better option, you dont have to go much bigger if you dont want to, you can still make good power with a D-series, but you will have to build it more. I reccomend you swap in a B16A vtec engine and a hydrolic transmission with LSD.

me and my buddy just finished his turbo 98 civic hatch

some of the basic parts you will need... im probably forgetting something

for the bottom end.

low compression pistons

h beam rods

sleeved block

all oem gaskets and bearings replaced

for the head... this is if you want to build the head

dual valve springs

titanium retainers

stage one or two cams

adjustable cam gears

better intake manifold and throttle body

you could just buy a turbo kit or piece together one

the kit will be easier if you never done it berfore

i would run i gt25r turbo

run hondata s300 get in tuned by a good tuner

this is my buddies setup basically and it cost him about $15,000

on pump gas you will be good for 400 to 500 horsepower easy

he hit 495 at 19 psi

what sort of fuel do you plan to run at 20 psi boost?! are you going to buy race gas at 10 $ a gallon? to run 20 psi on pump gas will take really low comp ratio/superior intercooling. you are asking what it will take to make a 350-400 hp honda really. thats a serious project that will usually cost big bucks. expect to spend a lot on the pistons alone. if you really think you want a 350hp + honda id say you best join a good forum and ask the experts there. just my opinion.
