Speed costs money. Get used to it. The most power per dollar is nitros.

Quality cold air intake and full exhaust will net you 20 horsepower. Nitrous is the most bang for your buck, especially if you want to shorten the life of your motor. You can safely do a 50 hp shot occasionally. Turbocharging is my favorite, providing a middle ground between high horsepower and engine wear, 100hp, easy. Supercharging is similar to turbocharging, but less hp also translates to less wear on your motor, maybe 80 hp. For under $100 you can put a cheap fart can and short intake for maybe 5hp.

Real speed costs money. There is a reason many people start with intake/exhaust. It's cheapest and easiest. They are not all created equal, and may be a waste in the end.

How do you define cheap? Sure you can go get a QUALITY intake/exhaust/header combo for you car for around $1,000, and add 10-15 HP at the wheels, or you can spend $4,000 for a QUALITY turbo kit and get 100 more HP at the wheels. Now dollar for dollar that is $100 per HP with the i/e/h route or $40/hp with a turbo setup.

If ur looking for REAL power and not just the 50hp +/- u get from bolt ons go turbo. With $1500+/- ull be running over 250hp at the wheel.
