Default 95 honda smels like oil after driven, any ideas ?

I have a 95 Honda Accord with 230k, a few months ago it started smelling like oil after driven. any ideas why?

i have tried to find leaks and cant and it is burning oil a bit but nothing substantial. other is somebody told me it was something to do with the oil pan but idk.I know that i need to fix a cv joint and replace the clutch, could this be related. Any ideas or know if it could be something fixable ?

the car has the 2.2 liter engine and it is an lx. i am a conservative driver so i am extremely easy on the cari try to keep my rpms between 2500-3500. there are no signs of smoke or anything coming from the exaust. the smell is deffinately coming from the front of the car. it isnt usually to bad though. the smell actually is similar to when oil is dripped on the engine when it is added.

it has nothing to do with the oil pan unless your leaking oil... are you? cuz if so then it could possibly be the pan but that not why it smells like oil. honestly just get an oil change. im pretty sure thats your problem. your engine burns oil when it gets to old. check the exhaust when you push on the gas, is there black smoke coming out? if so then yes your burning oil. good luck!

depending on the trim of your accord you engine might have vtec and depending on how you drive when you use vtec the engine shoots gas and oil though the lines and you burn alot of oil so if you beat on your car, race, dumb shit, speed, show off your proally burning alot of oil what rpms do you shift up at? vtec usually kicks in at 5500rpms and stays in use till you shift and it falls below thatalso it may have something to do with your clutch it might not

Take car to carwash. Use a can of degreaser on engine then wash engine. This will help you locate the source of leak.

My guess is your valve cover is leaking, running down to exhaust manifold.

when I first bought my prelude s I had the same problem with my f22. I eventually swapped the engine, but that is beside the piont. I could also smell oil all the time and the funny thing was there were no leaks. Finally I found the problem is with your pcv valve that is connected to your intake tube from you valve cover. If you are standing at the front of the car it is the hose going from the passenger side of the valve cover. the valve is made to let out positive crankcase ventilation into your intake track. Sometimes the valve on the inside gets dirty and spits oil into your intake.

To fix this problem all you need is to go to the auto parts store and buy a little air filter for $10. take the hose off, and put the filter on the valve cover side. Be sure to block the hose off so nothing gets into the intake tube. I used a golf tee.

Good Luck Hope this helps.
