The new civic SI has the k-series, I want a B-series though. Is Honda still making it no?

Nope, honda stopped making the B series. Technology advances, hence the K seriesand to the guy above me, k series is not the newest.The R18 is newer and still it's not the newest.The HF-Turbofan is honda's newest engine.

I believe that the B-Series was discontinued after the 2001 model year on CR-Vs and Integras. It was discontinued in the Civic after 2000.

If your looking to do a motor swap on an older Honda find a B series. The K series was a big step for Honda. They are not interchangeable with the transmissions from a older honda. If you decide you want to go with the K series then you will want to get the tranny with it and maybe a test car to see what you have to do to get it in before you trash yours. The biggest problem is going to be that the K series is the exact opposite from the B series. It rotates the opposite direction. Honda did this in hopes of marketing their engines to other companies. The previous honda engines always turned the opposite direction of all other makes.

Yes, Honda did discontinu the B-series engines in 2001, except for in the CR-Vs, wich have a B20 engine. The B16A is the most respected and swapped Honda engine and is still very respected in the tuner world and in japan the B-series is more respeced than the K-series ( probly because the k-series hasnt been out for as long )they still are the best vtec engine Honda hae ever made.
