Why did they drain the fluid? there is no reason to do that if your just changing pads. Also, Why are you changing just the back? those are the least used. I have a 2006 G6 with 70,000 km on it and i JUST changed my FRONT rotors and pads for the first time. There shouldn't be any problems with your brakes that soon, and it doesn't sound like normal wear and tear otherwise your Front brakes would be WAY worse. when you stop your front does 70% of the work and your back does only 30%.Sounds sketchy to me. Should have taken it back to the dealer and asked them to take a look, faulty brake system would be covered by warranty. Not to mention if your brake bias is off then your going to have the same problem again in no time.

Probably not. In their commercial, they quote you the price for just pads and shoes but at the end of the commercial, the fine print says, "There may be other substantial additional costs."The fact is pads and shoes are cheap, even machining the rotors or drums. But replacing other parts of the brakes or any labor out of the "ordinary" costs extra, usually a substantial amount. Honestly, you probably got a good deal.

How did rear brakes get that way in first place? Is it possible the parking brake is not completely dis-engaged?Do you ride your brakes? In our shop we encourage customers to get a brake flush while the brakes are being done.Brake fluid does get contaminated and will absorb water causing corrosion in brake lines.Un-even brake wear in rear on one side is unusual. The labor is the big factor in any shop job.The parts are pretty reasonable but are marked up by the time the consumer gets them.A pad swap up front is only a 10 to 15 minute job per side.A $25 set of Raybestos pads will run $65 by the time they are installed. The only way to save is learn to do these simple maintenance jobs yourself. Then you will be satisfied the work is to your liking.Order the parts(next time)on-line(below)and take your drums or rotors to machine shop for turning and save.I came up with $47.67 in parts(Raybestos Pads/rear shoes and new spring kit)for complete rebuild of all four.Add $40.00 to resurface both rotors and turn drums.Total of $87.67 to have new brakes on all four corners. These prices are current at the site below.Do your research BEFORE you turn your car over to anyone and you will be a Happy Camper,O.K.?

Don't feel bad, 8 or 9 years ago Midas ripped me a new one with a similar job on an old mitsubishi galant I had back then. OVER $600!! My suggestion to you is....find a new mechanic. Some places just charge way too much. Plus you throw in labor for certain items replaced and it jacks your bill up. Sorry.

that's not a bad price for replacing caliper, pads and flushing fluid so stop whining about it !! master tech 28yrs next time do it yourself in the driveway and see how frustrated you get trying to get bolts out,and replace caliper and bleed brakes

I don't know how long ago you had this done but if you didn't have them done not to long ago this would be a good case to turn into the BBB.But you have to file a complaint with them against the brake shop that did the work.If there was any problems with them you should of gone else where or even find a friend that is a mechanic that could of done them for at least about 70.00 to 100.00 but it all depends on what really needed to be done to fix the system along with parts also.hgm20002000@yahoo.com
