Alritee I have this 1998 civic ex that I bought 4 months ago and 3 weeks after I got it I changed the engine belt end the water pump 2 3 days after doing that it happened that the car over heated really bad after me driving on the Highway and going into slowspeed traffic I realized the Overheating late lilbit which made me get a Crack in the radiator so I changed the radiator and the thermostat
anyway anytime I am Driving the car its alrite until I get on the Highway and I exceed 85 Miles and then get into downtown slow traffic it has to heat and when I looked at the fan it wasn't on so I crossed the fan wires and did the same thing and drove 90 Miles on a highway still did the same thing and Overheated any clue wat the heck is that ?? yeah and usually the car never overheats Driving in downtown at slow speeds but also I never saw the fan coming on |

check your coolant resevoir. if its empty, fill it up again. then drive around some more, and check the resevoir again. if its empty, fill it up again. continue this process until your system stops taking coolant. also - there could be an air pocket in your system preventing your coolant fan from turning on (and thus, overheating). i had this problem, and so i jacked one side of my car up (which sloshed all the coolant around in the system), and turned the car on with a/c on full blast and let it idle. after a bit, the temperature started rising, then the coolant in the resevoir started bubbling, then the cooling fan turned on and my temp dropped. havent had a problem since.
hope this helped
