Hi,

I experienced an odd problem yesterday while driving my 2005 Honda Pilot (has about 80k miles). Was driving steady speed (50mph) on fairly flat and smooth roadway, not too hot (about 84F). All of a sudden, the A/C cut out, radio went off, ABS and brake indicators were lit. Also, GPS powered via outlet lost power too. The really odd thing is that the car continued running, so it was not a total power loss. After about 2 to 5 seconds, everything came back on. This has happened 3 times in total during the day.

I have no idea on this. Only recent service/work done was brakes, and also replace battery that died about 2 months ago, which makes me a little suspicious. Any thoughts on what this may be? Or am I just best off bringing the car into my local mechanic and see if any codes can shed light on the situation?

Did you ever figure out what caused this? My '05 Pilot is doing the same thing and our family mechanic can't figure it out.

We had the alternator tested and battery checked...terminals tightened, and has not happened since. Been almost 2 years since it happened. Someone also suggested a computer glitch may have been the cause, but not sure why it would have corrected itself? I have a code tester (which are very cheap nowadays) and if it happens again I'll see what this reveals. Did your mechanic indicate whethere there was any diagnostic information he was able to gather?
