i have a 00 honda civic dx 1.6L SOHC and my engine check light came on. My car idles somewhat high (cant really tell how high i dont have a tach) when i start the engine but goes to its normal idling after maybe 5 seconds... i just changed my radiator and put new coolant in about 3 weeks ago and never had problems till now... i have my own speculations but i wanna hear what youll say... (btw im just waiting for my brother's OBDII so i can see what the problem is) -THANKS-

Check your fluid in your radiator again sometimes when we fill them up you have to check them a couple of days latter because fluid will be low. Or it could be you have an exhaust leak.

you dont need an obd2 scanner on hondas to find out what the codes are.. this is how u do it....http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=978933u can also try this on your vehicle......http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread...ACV+locationit will help with rough idle.It could also be that your low on coolant or have air bubbles.open the radiator cap when cold and turn on the car.let it run for a few minutes with the cap off and your heater on to max. keep topping off radiator if needed.this will get rid of some of the air bubbles in there.after put cap back on and fill reservoir to level.

It could be any number of things. Maybe, for instance, a catalytic converter ...Usually it is something related to a smog device.
