Is it Legal to swap a prelude engine h23a to a h22a jdm?
hi their i have a honda prelude stock with the h23a1 engine, i want to know if it would be legal and pass smog if a swap it for a h22a jdm engine any help?

Yeah it should work. I have a 94 lude si which comes with the h23 and it was swapped to an h22. The car passed emissions testing for the person who i bought it from although where i live it is just a visual inspecion. just make sure it has a decent exhaust.

if you want to make sure it passes emissions make sure parts are carb legal, if they are then it will pass nationwide since cali has the strictest emissions laws. the only swapping the engine wouldnt be legal is if the engine is reported stolen, but it would be a lot of trouble for cops to find all the codes on the engine to run a record check (always the possibility though)

it would be cheaper and better just leave ur h23a1 in and take a h22a head and bolt it up.....u will still pass every thing and have vtec
|
