Enough to get you where you're going, not enough to pin you against the seat.

The civic is a economy car & not built for speed. But if you add some aftermarket goodies that add power, it can be a real fun car to drive. That's why most teens buy them over other cars.

no, its a commuter car (point A to point B), but all these ricer noobs think with a body kit and a wing (on a front wheel drive car makes it faster) even these ricers that add cold air intakes barely gain any horsepower. The only way you can get any more horsepower is to drop a new engine in there. If you wan't something that has a little more bang for its buck, i recommend an old nissan 240sx or toyota supra, you will need to mod it cuz running stock won't in any races, but their good cars that have potential if done right

The base model doesn't have much at all. However, the SI is pretty fun and quick.

the civic isn't exactly built for power..but it does have a little more than most little 4 liter engines. I have an '01 and my boyfriend has a '93 SI which is really quick.

depends what year and model. if its a d-series 1.6 engine (non v-tec) then it has between 105-113bhp (depending on country car was made for) but if it has the b-series 1.6 v-tec (B16A2) engine then it has between 158-167bhp, which means it does 0-60 in 7.5 secs! get the right model and they have plenty of power!generally though honda make good engines and all are rev happy and perform very wellps.hollowreaper13, you oviously know nothing about hondas (or cars in general) FYI honda make the most powerful production stock normally aspirated 1.6 to date (the B16B found in 1996-1999 civic type-r) that produces 185bhp. the B-series are tunable intelligent engines, and a tuned civic would beat a 240 or even supra,(ever heard of power:weight) youve spent too much time playing need for speed so get your facts right and keep your uneducated opinions to yourself.
