...car be ok? While I was driving it i did notice a faint burning kind of smell. When i got home a few minutes ago i went to put up the ebrake and realized that it was already up!!! The trip was about 15 minutes, most of it driving around 40 - 45ish mph. Should i be worried or will it be ok?? It is a 2000 Civic si with 95,000 miles on it.Please give serious advice im worried about my car now!

If your ebrake was not all the way up, (if it was you wouldnt be driving) then your fine, your parking brake engages the rear wheels only, and unlike the brake pedal which uses hydraulics, the e-brake is engaged by a cable, so if the e brake was locked in one position, then your rear brake pads would only be worn down to the position where the ebrake was on. In plain words, if you had good rear pads to begin with, you didnt wear the pads down. If the pads were worn down you would hear a screeching sound from the brake wear indicators on the pads themself when you use the pedal brake.

well its was simple mistake but not that much of a worry and I agree with almost all the answers here especially I THUMB DOWN N00BS, I agree with his answer best, and yes if you hadn't had your ebrake all the way up than you shouldn't because your car wouldn't much that much but if you had it all the way up than you will notice it when you stop and drive off because of the grab of the brake shoe, so if i were you, I will check the break pad and the rotor and the brake cable the engaged the e-brake. but you should be fine, just drive in the car again, first with the window all up and try to hear if there is any noise from the brake or if you can feel a difference, if not than row down the window and drive again and see if you can hear any noise, but you should be fine, just that you will soon have to change your brake pads, lol, when I first bought my CRV, I test drove it with the e-brake up and it was hard taking off but the stopping was easy, I didn't notice at all too and it was about 15 minute test drive but the seller told me that i had the e-brake up which was why the car was going a little slow but nothing bad did happen, I had the CRV since 05 and until now I still haven't change the Pad yet, they told me is good for another 6 month, so don't worry too much, just check your break pads and rotor.
