Default 08 Honda Civic. The holes to attach front license plate are too wide. What do I do?

I live in TX. Legally we have to have the front and rear license plates mounted. The holes for the front are too wide for the license plate and I'm not exactly trying to drill holes in the front bumper. Any help with this? (I've been driving around with the plate in my front window, but finally got a warning for it yesterday)An 08 Honda Civic:http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...N%26um%3D1*The holes itself are not too wide. They are placed too far apart. Oops.Joe- I searched license plate bracket, but I'm getting a wide variety of results. Can you send me a link of what I'm looking for specifically?--Every bracket I find is shaped somewhat like an upside down L The long side of the L is where my licese plate goes. I got that. The shorter part goes in the grille area? Call me blonde, but that won't screw into the holes already within my grille. What am I not looking at?

Those holes are to attach the bracket to which you attach the plate. You are missing the bracket.

check with your dealer there most likely is a license plate holder that mounts to the front, then you attach the plate to it.

As mentioned before, you are missing the license plate bracket. You may be able to find one at a wrecking yard. Just take the measurements of the holes, that is the distance between, and find a bracket off another car with the same spacing. Doesn't have to come off of a Civic, you might find one off of an Accord or something else that will work. Probably won't cost more than $5 from a wrecking yard.
