I'm having trouble removing my starter completely. I took of the two man bolts, and the one 12mm bolt under the smallest rubber boot holding a connector on. But I can get the biggest rubber boot of. It looks like whatever is underneath that needs to come off, but I can't get it off for the life of me. Any ideas? Also. When putting the starter back into place as long as I line everything up it will fit into the "gears" (inside the engine) correctly?Thirdly, the bolts were torqued down VERY tight, but I don't have a torque wrench to torque them with. Will this be ok?I ended up getting the rubber cover off! It didn't want to budge!Starter came off like a charm!

I'm not sure about the taking it off part-- but for the other two questions---as long as you can get the bolts to go back in properly, the gears line up fine as well. and you shouldn't need a torque wrench. Make sure they are tight but don't over tighten or you'll strip the bolt holes and have bigger issues. I suggest calling a dealership and asking to talk to the service dept. As long as you are nice, the service guys are pretty good to talk to.Good luck!
