Default Help starting ignition - C2000 Sport

We've borrowed a friend's car for the weekend, and now unable to start the ignition using the remote control.

Usually, we need to use the remote to open the doors then use the remote again to be able to start the engine using the engine start button.

At the moment, we can get into the car with no problems, but when we click the remote again it works temporarily and then automatically locks the doors. This means we can't get the engine start button to work because the car thinks we're outside and locked it again.

Before we call the AA, we wanted to check if anyone had come across this problem before. The local Honda dealership thought it might mean a flat battery on the car?

Thanks!
