I was interested in buying a used Low mileage 1995 honda civic DX. The owner says the only thing that needs replaced is a tow bar bolt. I was trying to research it but wasn't sure what the part was or what effect this part had on the car as I have never owned a car that needed one, Any advice thanks in advance!

there is no such thing as a tow bar on a civic, there are tow hooks check the supsension by taking it for a drive, test the start,ac/heating/the speedomiter and the how the car shifts (feel the clutch and see if its how much you have to release it before it gets back into gear, and see if it jerks or high rev's if its automatic)see if all the windows roll up and down with out any restrition, see if the mirrors dont move when driving, if blinkers work. and find a straight road and let go of the steering wheel at 20mph and see if it turns by itself.if you get a pass on all of those, buy it for sure, cuz its worth it.
