Default New Engine in Accord Question...?

hi i have an 87 accord, i just had the whole engine rehauled, how important is it to have the valves readjusted, my mechanic said that i should have them readjusted and to check the engine overall too... also i wanna know what are the advantages of having the valves readjusted....

yes you want to have them readjusted after 2000/3000 miles,as the valves seat they get tighter.readjusting them will enhance engine performance and longevity honda tech 12yrs.
