Default 2005 Civic Si or 2001 Prelude SH?

i'm planning on buying one of those but i'm really stuck. i'd like to hear opinions and why? thanks for helpingAnswers were very informative but i would also like to know about reliability. i mean, i know the Prelude would beat the Civic with its larger hp and torque numbers. but when it comes to repairs, im 18 years old working minimum wage. so thats the only thing that's really making me think about this choice

If it was an 06 Si, then I would go with the Si but since it is a 05 (EP3 chassis code) then that means it has less power. The SH has more power and handles better because it has ATTS. The 01-05 Si is one of hondas flops, they were underpowered and just plain ugly.

You will have to take precautions on the prelude since is one of the favorites car for stealers. The H22 engine can be used in many Hondas. The EP3 isn't like that you can go anywhere without the worry that when you get back to your will not be there.

You will definitely want the 2005 civic. The prelude sh transmission is not the best once the miles start getting racked up. ATTS (Active Torque Transfer System) is not very reliable after about 125k miles. If it does end up taking a dump on you, the cost to replace it or the tranny will be very high. Id stick with the civic
