Is it comfortable to drive this car on extended drives? Say if I wanted to drive from Galveston to Dallas/Ft. Worth for example. How good is the A/C in the searing summer heat?

i dont know about extended drives but i have to say it is pretty comfy overall.and like in most hybrids, the AC is decent. it might get a lil warm in the car but it blows pretty strong

I have only seen the Insight at the dealer and did not drive it. I did rent the Toyota Prius for a week and loved the car. You could try to rent the car from a local dealer or rental car chain to see if the A/C is sufficient for you.For around the same money the Prius is bigger and MPG is slightly better. Also, the car is now in it's 3rd generation so a lot of the kinks are worked out. Good luck.

No, its a great car.It will most likely last forever.A/C was tested in the desert like all new cars are. So it is great.It is comfortable enough to drive long distances. And very practical and roomy and fun to drive. Cheap maintenance too.

ya its alright but not better than the 2010 prius
