yes it should be a good car. If young adult keeps up maintenance and drives it properly theres no reason it shouldnt last a few hundred thousand miles. These cars are realativly easy to maintain they get decent fuel milage and good durabillity. A great thing about it being a 98 is in the event of an accident you wont loose a great deal of money. For peace of mind though i would keep as much insurance as possible including towing uninsured motorist and under insured motorist. Hope all this helps.

Hello, I sell used cars as a side gig. Mostly purchased from dealer auctions. I focus primarily on used Hondas because they are such well built cars and hold a great re-sale value. This car you're asking about is a highly reputable vehicle in terms of mechanics and price, (also parts and labor). If maintained properly you would have almost no problems with this vehicle in the course of its ownership. Now to answer your question directly: This in my opinion would be a perfect vehicle for you to give to a teenager. It's very dependable, decent on fuel economy and also has s sporty look and feel which all young drivers believe to be important. If your 18 year old driver is into cars and mechanics there is a huge aftermarket parts industry in which you could customise this vehicle per driver taste. In other words: BUY THIS CAR. With decent mileage you should expect to pay $5,000 or less for this vehicle. I hope this may be of some help to you.....
