Default Moving up from a 2001 Dodge Neon to a 2009 Honda Civic Si? Good transition?

I have a 2001 Dodge Neon with 165,000 miles on it (no, I don't know how it lasted that long). I am getting a new car this fall when I start my first job after graduating from college. I really like the Honda Civic Si (cheap to maintain, relatively good gas mileage, cheap to insure, Honda quality). I loved my Neon and thought it drove very sporty. Will I be happy with the Honda Civic Si (considering that I'm coming from a Dodge Neon)? Comments or suggestions?

Go for it. The civic si is a great little car. They had some transmission third gear shifting problems when they first came out but Honda has corrected the problem. I'm a technician at a Honda dealer and I really love the civic si. Hope you get one.

Have in mind that you'll be spending at least $25,000 on that Civic. also have in mind that in 1 year the car will be worth 17-18 grand.Looks like you're into sporty cars since you want the Si.Do your search and you'll see what your options are for 25 grand. For 25 grand you can buy a very low mileage 2006-2007 lancer evolution or a Subaru STI.those cars are both AWD and will both do 30 miles to the gallon.and they are faster more practical since they are Sedans.the interior doesnt look cheap like in the civic.you could even consider a BMW m3 with low miles for that same price.and that would be more reliable than the civic.my buddy made the mistake of buying the Civic SItransmission broke at 9k milesowes $21,000car is worth 16kGL

yeah the civic is a good choice and dont listen to ivan g. If his friends transmission broke at 9K miles its because of the way he was driving it or it was modified by someone whos not that smart. Not to mention that car should be warrenteed so honda should fix it if it did break.

Hey Tom!

I think you're going to love the Si.
Whether its the technical components (197-hp, 2.0-litre, 16 valve, i-VTEC, 4 cylinder engine) or the sport-tuned-strut-front-and-double-wishbone-rear- suspension system, or even the 7 speaker audio system with a subwoofer, a lot of people love the Si.
Its got comfort, and safety and style all for a great price.
I say go for it - you're making a great choice, and I think you'll love it.
