Default What RPM does a Vtec kick in?

Well, this is just a general question. I know there are different versions of the motors and all that good stuff, but usually, what RPM does the Vtec kick in?

it is always used. it provides low-end torque and high-end horsepower (you accelerate faster and top speed is faster)

Around 5,000-5,500 RPMs depending on the car and it's tuning. An aftermarket VTEC controller will hack the system and you can make it kick in earlier with it.

5,600rpm. thats the typical vtec engagement rpm. in a GSR its at 4400 when the secondaries open up in the intake and then you hear it at about 5,600

b16a has about the lowest i've seen @ 4.8k rpm and the highest i've seen is from the d16y8 @ 5.6k rpm, some are set at 5.2k some at 5.4k... so I guess typically between 4.8-5.6k rpm.
