Hi I recently acquired a Skunk 2 stage 1 camshaft at a good price from someone and it's for a 1992-1995 EX sohc vtec D16Z6 it says on the skunk2 paper work it came with. He said he had it in his 2000 EX, I was wondering if I could use it in my 1999 Honda civic ex. my 99 has a D16y8 sohc vtec also and it's still a D-series the only difference between the two engines is the compression and hp.Any help is greatly appreciated...10 points to best answer!

yes it'll fit your carthere's no difference between the 2000 ex and the 1999 exYou might want to look for a skunk2 adjustable cam gear before you install ityou'll see a better result with the addition of a cam gear

yes i do believe you could put d16z6 cam gears onto a d16y8, just the keyway position is different (i think) the Z6 lines up with TDC where as the Y8 would be have to be a few degrees retarded.
