This is an entirely wasteful task. If you ever introduce any forced induction on any car, it should be a rear wheel drive. So you will make your compact commuter a little faster on a straight line, but what is the point. At higher speeds you will need a complex front end and underbody difuser (the wing is useless for front wheel drive). The turbo work itself will outprice the car. This car is not speed worthy and is not track worthy (again, its not a rear wheel drive) so why in the world would you do it?You need to buy a rear wheel drive first then think about turbocharging it.

i would assume the turbo kit... also the turbo kit would be less of a hassle because you could just throw all the parts in there as soon as you got it, rather than waiting on each individual part to later put all together. also getting the kit guarantees compatibility. i reccommend the kit, rather than buying the turbo, blow off valve, hoses, etc.

It's cheaper to buy a turbo kit, but be aware that witht the high compression of your engine, I would recommend you build your motor up first. That means building the motor you have with stronger internals, plus lower compression pistons. Next, you'll need to upgrade your fuel injectors and possibly fuel pump. Then, you'll have to have it tuned by a good shop. If that's too much work, you can run a turbo kit with 6 psi of boost- but I wouldn't recommend any higher if you want it to remain reliable. You have yet another thing against you- you will void your factory warranty by turbocharging your Si..

Always buy the bolt on kit to make sure that everything will work together, if you buy separately it might not much then you will waste a lot of money, also don't buy the cheap kit buy the Greddy, HKS or turbonetics they will give you the hp that you like..Saying this be sure you have at least 6 gran

Buy a turbo kit.Greddy or AllJapGreddy needs to be tuned once you install it. Easier to install. One of the cheapest and reliable turbo kits out there.AllJap is very tricky to install but it comes with a Hondata Reflash for your stock ECU that will make your ride ready to be used once you have every on. It is the most expensive but is the one that makes highest horsepower. Stage 1 300@4psi whp, stage 2 380whp@8.5psi, stage 3 over 400whp. I would stay away of making a custom turbo setup for this car. There is no Hondata Kpro for this civic yet. You will need piggy back to tune it, the only ones that I know that are working pretty well are the Greddy Emanage Ultimate and the AEM Fi/C. But they will only let you control fuel and ignition. No VTC setup like the Hondata ECU.You can use a standalone but say good bye to your dash because it will not work. No Rpm needle, speedometer, etc...There is plenty of information regarding forced induction on Civic SI 2006+ here:http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/force...ction-nitrous/

I have boosted my fg2 and it is alot of work but it is completely worth it... take your time and save the extra money and buy each part individually... the kits may fit together if u get a high quality one but if ur not plannin on it piece it together..
here is a list of things u will need turbo(preferably ball bearing) turbo manifold wastegate(10-12 psi are good numbers for springs) downpipe oil feed and oil return lines oil filter relocation(summit makes a real sick one i am running unless u run full race manifold) intercooler intercooler piping blow off valve ic piping couplers t bolt clamps map sensor check valve AEM F/IC boomslang wiring harness for the f/ic battery relocation kit gauges step cooler plugs run at .030 gap im sure i am forgetting a few things but they will come to me and i will re post... it will take an enormouse amout of time and pacience but it is completely worth it from running mine the way i have it setup.... dont go cheap on any thing either it will only cost u in the end |
