Default 1996 Honda Accord Clutch Master And Slave

116000 miles on this Honda. I would like to know if the cylinder repair kits are worth bothering with and if so how long will it take to do the repair on both.

Or should I just replace them both with new units. Both are seeping a little bit externally.

Thanks for your help.

Well, I just changed both cylinders out of my 95 Accord. It cost me about 50 bucks for both. Seeings how you have to bleed the whole system out again whether you change them or fix them, I would say it's worth it just to change them. That way you know where you're at with them both. Plust when you're dealing with hydraulics, and fluids, you should either know what you're doing or get someone to do it that does. Also, bleeding it is a b*tch.

Yeah, I priced out complete cylinders. Honda dealer about $300 for the pair. Other sources run from $50 to $140 or so. I'm not sure of the quality of these others.

May I ask what brand you went with? One of the brands I am considering is Dorman. About $60 for the pair with a lifetime guarantee from Dorman. They are the only brand I found with that sort of policy. No help on the pain of labor though.

Repair kits $28 for both. Either way, new or repaired I will flush the old fluid out. How long did the whole job take?

Thanks for your thoughts on the matter.
