I Have A 2001 V6 Honda Accord LX and want to switch it to a manual but dont know anything about transmission in my car so i was woundering if anyone could help me by letting me know what i will need.. i plan to switch the ECU/ECM and would like to put either a Turbo or a Supercharger with a cold air intake.. also is cold air intake better or should i look into something els

It would cost more that its worth to do, if you want a manual car...sell yours and get a manual. I dont think many garages would attempt to do it, and if they did. It would cost a bomb

On the older honda. its pretty easy to swap out. But the New Honda are more pain in the A$$. just better off selling your car and go get a 6spd model. Consider a 2001 Honda, a 6spd tranny would run you around 1000-1500 used. Now you have to change both Computer (Engine and Transmission managment) and you have to find a Engine Management to work with manual. and the wiring..hww.. = too much hassle.

The 1998-2002 Honda Accord V6 came stock with the J30A1 (V6) engine, so you can only use the manual transmissions that came with the V6 model and not the 4 Cyl model. Finding a manual transmission for the V6 model is RARE. You can easily find the manual transmission for the 4 Cyl models for about $500-$700 bucks.My advice to you is just look around. Call your local auto shops, junk yards, search Craigslist, etc. You will eventually find a manual transmission, but it wont be easy.
