Car has a engine swap with a F22b. I just recently got my car and had to replace the water pump. Before replacing the pump, the engine would fire immidiately with no trouble. After I got that done and changed the oil, I tried to start it up, it wouldn't fire. After several tries I decided it must be getting close to being out of gas. I filled it up and still wouldn't start. So then I just punched the gas to get it to fire and it did. Only trouble is it wouldn't idle, it would just die. It runs and sounds fine keeping it at 2000rpms, but dropping it down to around 1500rpms it starts to die. I can't figure out why this is happening.
I didn't mess with anything other than the parts i needed to move to get to the water pump. I don't know if i missed a hose connection or what? Also, when i got the covers off for the timing belt, I noticed that the cams were'nt perfectly straight up. That was prior to taking it off. So it was running fine with the cams about 2degrees off and they point towards each other. but it ran fine like that before.
