...something about a wire? some where and then count the number of times the cheak engine light clicks

The quickest way I know would be to run a computer scan, at a repair shop. This check is done by hooking a handheld computer to a cable hookup under the dash. You'll find it near the fuses. The scan only works if you have an engine light on; if you don't then it'll read fine. Depending on how many miles you have, this could indicate a bad oxygen sensor. They are about $80-100 bucks to replace. Hope that helped.

Uh no the quickest way would be to look on the gauge cluster and see if you have a little yellow light on that looks like a motor and if it is there is a little plug on the right side under the glove box that you can bridge with a paper clip and get the codes

Let Auto Zone run a free scan to locate the trouble. You might try unhooking the battery for about 10 minutes and hook it back up and the light may stay out. I did both and the light never came back on. Auto Zone said the problem was with the fuel system, possibly an air leak like a loose gas cap.

That will give you all the information you need to pull the codes from your Civic.

As for disconnecting the battery, you will need a radio code if you chose to go that route. The easier option is to pull the hazard fuse for a minute or so and then put it back in. That will reset the ECU and any codes as well without requiring a radio code.
