No stock car is safe, it will get smoked by a modded car or possibly smoked by a faster stock car........Every true racer knows you don't race stock, you build your machine then see what that baby can do...You can go with older model hatchbacks....89-91..They will be super light. I wouldn't go any year older than a 89 to be honest. Then I'd get a swap.......or you can get a EG...they are still fairly light. If you want to go for looks. Get a EK.Keep in mind considering swaps and modifications.

EK... EG.. etc are generation years.....EK are hondas from 1996-2000(6th gen)... EG are from 1992-1995(5th gen).....i have an 2002...thats a 7th generation...2001-2005..... Just remember due to emission/OBD laws in like 45 out of 50 states, you cant swap an older engine into a newer car... since Honda stopped making the B series in 2001... and my car is an 02...i have to go K series which is better anyway... so if you buy an older gen... you can put whatever motor you want in it...

1992-1995 hatchback eg.ek=1996-2000 honda civicsYou can find a 92-95 civic for $1000.00 and up and you will have to modify it yourself. However if you go on www.b20vtec.com, www.urbanracer.com you can find classifieds of people selling their cars already done.hope it helps

i would get either a eg or ek.ef= 89-91 civichttp://img86.imageshack.us/img86/891...re1607mv.jpgeg = 92-95 civichttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2..._0583.jpgek/ej = 96-00 civichttp://www.mackeydesigns.com/blog/wp...tion-098.jpgit originates with the 4th 5th and 6th number of the vin #people refer to there civics as EG6 EK4 EK9 EJ1 EJ6 etcbut of those most come with SOHC non-VTEC motors.i would at least get a SOHC VTEC motor, if not the DOHC VTEC motor.typically speaking get the Si models.
