I've asked a few questions on here and I suppose all it's really doing is confusing me more.I've considered the H22A, the K20A (deemed too expensive for me), and B-Series engines like the B16A and B18C.I think what it comes down to is three questions.a) If I put in a H22A, would I lose my A/C and my power steering?b) Which would be the easiest to swap into my car?c) Which, in the long run, is going to be the cheapest (i.e. buying the engine, improving its internals (forged pistons etc), having the swap done, and buying general performance parts for)? The car is a 99 Honda Civic CXi (yes, I'm in Australia - and because of that, I daresay most of the Civics will have their original engines, with a few mods - so maybe a B16A would do the trick nicely?)10 points for the best answer
Thanks

If you want easy swap then forget about the H22a. The B series will drop right in with no issues. I've done the swap a few times and usually we leave the ac and power steering out but I'm sure it is possible. You can't get a fast car if your not willing to sacrifice some creature comforts.

withe the h22..youll lose the ps and ac...and the easiest is the bseries swaps...the b16 and b18 are praticly the same on the cheapest build...but its just that the b18 has a bigger displacement and has more hp and torque to start out with...

it depends on what you want to do, for non boost applications go with a b20 from a cr-v, thats a 2.0l DOHC 16 valve. should be easy to put in.any B series will be easy to swap into a car thats build stock with a B series, the H22a is found in accords, sure they are a 2.2 or 2.3 liter, but they arent that good for performance, and the hardest would probably be a K20a, they arent cheap and have the intake manifold in the front and exhaust header in the rear.if you want to add a turbo or super charger go with a B18 since they have thicker cylinder walls. so pretty much keep it B, if you want displacement go with a B20z2, if you want boost b18 or b16.
