Serious question it will decide the fate of the next few years of my transportation. I already know that the Si is 6 speed, its much more reliable and it sucks less gas and is a little more expensive. The SS/TC is turbocharged, its got more horsepower but sucks more gas and is cheaper. Provide as much detail as possible and thanks!Plus i have a connection with getting the Cobalt for much cheaper , thanks again! If i dont get the TC or Si ill prob buy a Cobalt SS w/o the TC and install a cold air intake. Or a 2000 Honda Civic Si.

The chevy cobalt has similar MPG numbers to the new civic si even if is a turbo one that doesn't matter. If you don't push it, it will behave like any other 2.0l engine. The latest cobalt SS doesn't come without turbo. If you want it without force induction there was one year that chevy drop the forced inducted model and offered only a Cobalt SS with a 2.4l engine I think that was model 2007. The previous years the car came with the supercharger and also can be found N/A.The SI is a fun car to drive I own one. But is not a fast car and if you drive it in a aggresive way it will suck gas like a V6.Both the chevy and the honda use Premium Fuel only. The TC is just an average coupe consumes almost the same fuel of the other two cars and uses regular fuel. This one will save you money on gas right away if that is your target and you don't mind in having a slower car, this is the one that you need.About resale value don't be so cocky regarding chevy resale history. Because there are many american cars that have a resale value equal or better than many Honda models.Take a look in the resale value of a Neon SRT-4 and take a Civic SI of the same year and compare them on www.kbb.comThe same thing with a ford mustang and compare it with a Honda of the same price range and year. You will be amaze of what you will find. This could happen to the Cobalt SS, things are unpredictable on the automotive world.

Cobalt is faster and better performance stock. SI is a blast to drive and with a little tweaking you can get some decent performance out of it as well. I went with a better exhaust, and a cold air which really helped on the low end torque. Resale is much better on the Si like the other guy said. And you can really extend the gas mileage if you dont drive it hard. i can get close to 350 miles to a tank if i granny shift it.Only thing is that I do not like about the Cobalt SS is that ridiculous wing that is on the back. I think it is rear wheel drive though, which i would like better than the FWD. All in all i love my SI. I test drove the Cobalt and i jsut didnt like the interior styling.

Given the two choices, I would go with the Honda Civic Si. For the money though, you can get a 2009 turbocharged Chevy Cobalt SS which is far superior to the Honda Civic Si in every way.

BUY THE HONDA... this is similar to somebody going on and on about how fast etc etc the dodge neon srt4 is.... then when it is junk at 30 thousand miles like most dodges are... they wish they picked something else. i know a guy whose shop stays in business with all the crappy dodges out there.. go with the better car and its NOT the chevy...
