I own a 2008 Honda Civic, and I owe $7,000 more than what it is worth. I want to trade it in for a older car so that my monthly payments will be cheaper. Is this a smart idea? What are the pros/cons?

IT all depends on what car you want to get besides the Civic. Just remember that honda is the top most reliable vhiecle in the market. with the best resale value. Even though the payments for the car are costly . In the end , its better to pay the monthly payments on the car then having in the car in the shop all the Time. I would think about that honda tend to last way past 150k , so you will be saving alot of money on gas (40 mpg highway) and you dont have to worry about having the car in the shop all the time.
