My 2000 Honda Accord LX (used, recently purchased) seems to have a "hard" shift when accelerating. I do a lot of stop and go driving and can feel it. Also happens when I slow down at a light or stop sign.I'm wondering if it's just the nature of the year and model or if I should have the transmission checked. Thanks

most honda's do shift hard and you also feel them downshift coming to a stop, but have fluid checked and or changed.if you have it changed make sure they use honda factory fluid only ! other fluids and additive's will make it shift funny.honda tech 10yrs.

On a lot of vehicles there is a transmission speed sensor that receives data that tells it how fast the car is going and shifts accordingly. If this sensor is bad the transmission can't function properly. I would have this checked, they are not that terribly expensive, and not that hard to change on most vehicles. Hope this helps.
