In general Honda engines have a reputation for being good solid and very reliable engines. From car engines, to motor cycle engines, to lawn mowers, to eclectic generator engines. Lets face it, there is a reason why people will pay a little extra for a lawn mower or an electric generator with a Honda engine and that is they know they are getting a better product. My wife has a lady friend who has a half a million miles on her old 4 banger Accord and it has never been overhauled. A friend of mine at work has that engine in his Civic (its newer) and loves it. Does all this mean you will have no problems? No but your chances are better to not to have problems.

This is seriously at least the 3rd time you've asked this exact same question in the past week (anyone who thinks I'm exaggerating, check it out for yourself). The D16Z6 is just as reliable as any other Honda engine, as long as you take care of it. If you don't do maintenance on it, it will be destroyed just like any other engine from ANY manufacturer. Timing belts go bad over time, the water pump goes bad over time, the thermostat goes bad over time, the igniter in the distributor goes bad over time, spark plugs and wires go bad over time, the valves need adjustment over time, and the head gasket can blow over time. Every engine from any kind of vehicle has these problems eventually. Take care of the engine, and it can easily last 300,000+ miles.

a honda engine is actually the most reliable engine compare 2 others jap made model.. be it a D or B series for ur hachback..but wad do u actually mean "common problems"????fan belt, timming belt, power steering belt r all wear n tear..engine or piston jam if u over rev too high for too long... piston burned or ring wear off if u dun take good care of it.. head gasket burned if over heated... i think all these is common for every engine too...take gd care 2 ur engine... a D16z is a gd engine...
