I have a 1991 Civic track car. It is fitted with a 1.6 16v non Vtec engine. It handles superbly but I wondered if there was a larger Honda engine, 1.8 or 2.0 litre which would fit without too much trouble. I know some people can fit almost any engine in any car but my knowledge, and mechanical abilities are limited, as is my budget.Any suggestions please?

dont forget you will have to upgrade suspension and brakes, then there is gearbox ratio's to think about

You say your knowledge,mechanical skills etc are limited. It would be less hassle to buy a car with a more powerful engine and sell the car you have.

low budget build for more power would be between these three things...-first one is to slap a vtec head on it and run it as a minime, plus make it obd1-second is to slap a turbo on..and just boost away..-third is to find a cheap b16a and swap it in...the b16 is the best choice since its going into a track car...

but in an old skool SIR engine it is a 1.6 VTEC and change gearbox to all the wiring is the same so its easy
