I have 2 options, either buy a Honda S2000, or trick out a Honda Del Sol.Pros and Cons of both:S2000Good:Getting low in price usedGreat performance/sportySell my Ford Focus, and not do much work to it, it's a beautiful carBad:Bad mileagePremium fuelOutrageous insuranceDel SolGood:CheapTrick it out the way I want to, making it my own, and differentAbout the same price as the S2000 when i'm done with itB16A3/Turbo=240ish hp (same as S2000)Cheap insuranceBad:A lot of work over a longer period of timeGet called a "ricer" lolKeep my Focus ZX3 until this car is doneWhich one would you get?My insurance question is:If I put about 7 grand into a Del Sol (engine, body, stereo, cosmetics, everything), how would I let the insurance company know about it? And how how much more per month do you think i'd be paying? Would the S2k still be more or about the same?

Without more information I can only quote averages. Liability will run $35/$45 a month. Full coverage will run $80/$90 a month.Since you are putting so much time and work into these projects I would suggest full coverage.Good Luck.

As far as premium goes if you turbo the del slow it has to have premium also. Now the S2000 is FAAARRR better than ANY del slow that you can build. If you want turbo on the Del slow you are going to spend more than your budget of $7000 especially with a B16 SWAP. the swap alone is about $3500 installed and a QUALITY turbo kit is about $3,500 so theres your $7000, and this is not even including the extra stuff you want to do like wheels, and other stuff. Also this is still going to be a little less whp than the S2000 puts out in STOCK form. Get the S2000, much better car all around

If you want your insurance company to cover your mods I'm almost certain that you have to register it as a collector car and pay A LOT more for insurance. I built a civic and this was the case for me. I would strongly recommend the S2000. Don't get my wrong, I love a built del sol, but you'll get your money's worth more for the S2000 and you always lose reliability when you heavily modify anything (or turbo charge something not designed to run a turbo). Besides this, re-sale will be MUCH higher for the S2000. If you invest $7k into your del sol you'll be lucky to get $1500 of that back when it's time to sell it. Also if you turbo a del sol you'll be getting the same MPG if not worse than an S2000.All in all, both would be awesome choices but if it was me I would go with the S2000.
