Your water pump is powered by the timing belt that also spins your crankshaft pulley, camshaft pulley, and tensioner.If you want to see for yourself, remove the 8 10mm bolts holding down your engine valve cover. This will allow you to remove the upper timing belt cover after you've removed the 2 10mm bolts holding it in place. Then you can angle a flashlight down the lower timing belt cover to see the water pump gear, crankshaft pulley, and tensioner.http://www.hondacivicrepairs.com/tim...ivic&id=26Good luck!
