I have a 1996 (fourth gen) Honda Prelude Si with the H23 (2.3L) engine. Its not the VTEC model but I found an exhaust that is made only for the 4th generation VTEC Prelude. Am I able to put this on my car without problems such as: difference in the length of the exhausts after the catalytic converter or maybe the VTEC Prelude has a weird sensor that mine doesn't have, or if the size and location and placement of the gas tank affects where the exhaust track runs on the underside of each car?I am seriously interested in buying this catback exhaust but I don't want to have to cut it down or anything to put it on, I want it to just bolt-on as any other exhaust would that is made specifically for my car.

From what I can tell from the service manual the front exhaust pipe (exhaust pipe "A") is different for the H23A1 and the H22A1 engines and the F22A1 engine. However, the catalytic converter, rear exhaust pipe (exhaust pipe "B") and the rear muffler are the same for all 1996 preludes regardless of the engine.that means the cat-back system from the VTEC engine vehicle should just bolt up to the cat from the non-VTEC as the cat and downstream components are the same for all 1996 preludes.hope that helps
