Default My wife's Honda Accord shut off tonight. . .?

We were driving home and all the lights on the console were blinking and flashing then the car coasted to a stop and shut off. We turned off the key, put it in park and waited for about 5 minutes. Then it started back up, and went the rest of the way home without incident. It is roughly O degrees out right now. Any ideas? Could it be the alternator?

it would help to know the year and model of the Accord.if its a 1997-1999 there was a recall on the ignition switch that would cause exactly what you are describing to happen. Any Honda dealer can correct the problem by replacing the ignition switch. recalls are done at no charge.other than that, need more information--was the car cold or hot? how long were you driving before it happened? what speed were you going? wer you driving on flat ground, uphill, downhill, around turns, over bumps etc. the more infor you provide the better the chances of figuring out what happened.hope that helps

well like prevoiusly mentioned more info on the year would be helpful. did the battery light come on before you noticed then blinking? another tip would be to get your alternator and charging system checked at your dealer or any autoparts store. that's what i would do.

could be 1 of a million things, check battery terminals for tightness, buy a bottle of dry gas, check your spark plugs and wires and if its none of those, see a shop
