I've driven my friend S2000 before, when I drive it hard up to 9000rpm its fast. Now I want to buy a car with similar or faster than the S2000 but cheaper in price. My plan is to lightly tune it in future. Is Honda CRX Del Sol even close to the S2000 in:1) acceleration2) 1/4 mile3) top speed4) handlingIs there other car that cheaper but similar performance than the S2000?Thanks 4 the answer

the S2000 will blow that Del Sol off the roadYou can get an 2002 SLK32 AMG for about $23K or so. That will give you 0-60 time around 4.7s or so which is much faster than the S2000. I don't know how new of an S2000 you are talking about so I don't know if that is considered cheap in price. The only other thing might be to try to find an old Toyota Supra or a MR2 Turbo with a chip. They can probably beat that S2000On a side note to align with the other guys horsepower response. The SLK32 has 349hp with 332lbs torque, so you can see the difference.

No the del sol with the best engine available stock is maybe 160-180hp but the s2000 has 225hp and is rear wheel drive so the s2000 beats the del sol in acceleration 1/4 mile top speed and handling... now something that has the same performance as the s2k and is cheaper i dont know... i would probably look into the Dodge SRT4

the s2000 will piss all over the del sol.if you want to get close to it for cheap, buy a honda prelude 2.2i vtec if honda (acura) is yourb thing. get an apexi vtec timer and a de cat exhaust system, ram air filter and a spoon chip to up the power and remove the rev limiter( they can take 9500rpm. insane fun), and chase your friend untill the sun go,s down for a 1/2 of the price of his car. plus you get 4 wheel steering. result.

hands down the s2000 stock,ok stock at most the del sol has 160hp, the b16a3the s2000 stock is 240hp the f20c.you can build either to be faster than either.but i would stick with the s2000 for better suspension and handling.

why not just buy a used s2000? you can buy a 2000 - 2003 for under $17000.

lol.... s2000similar performance but cheaper.. hmm..... might i suggest a V6 or even V8?if u want to stick with Honda.. go with Accord V6

the del sol was the worst honda with body twists at high speed driving. the original crx was a lot more sturdy. the s2000 was based off of formula1 tuning like the nsx. you can not touch a s2000 with the crx or del sol.
