I have a Honda Civic 2006 that the windshield wipers do not stop wiping after being switched to the off position. Once switched off, they still wipe and do not stop wiping until I very gingerly switch from the fastest speed to the lower speed to intermittent and then to off. During intermittent, the wipers constantly move and do not pause at all after returning to the rest position. Is the problem in the motor or the switch? If it is the switch, where is the switch located for this vehicle?

I had this problem. The solution was to replace the wiper motor. The switch is contained in the motor. I had it done at the dealer as I didn't have the time to deal with this. It was about 1 hour labor plus parts. Problem was resolved with this solution.

Honda posted a Service Bulletin about this problem in Sept, 08. If your Civic is out of warranty you may have may be eligible for goodwill consideration by
the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
