car sometimes won't start, but then will start later. was at the shop 2 days and they could not find a problem, but said it might be a problem with the battery in my keychain because of the anti theft devise, so they changed it. last night i was stting in my car with it on but not started, the clock flashed off so i tried to start it and no luck. so i hit the keychain lock to see if it was a having a problem, whenever i did, the dash and inside lights would flash on and off several times. abou an hour later, just like always, it started right up.

when dash lights flash, it indicates that an alarm is working, and you are trying to start the car in an unauthorized way. I think your alarm interferes with starter, or maybe a chip in a lock got worn out. All of the 2001 civics equiped with a microchip inside of a key, to prevent theft. So another possibility that a chip in your keys got damaged.
