And I don't have a spring compressor. Can I do it myself?

get a chainand a lockthread the chain through the inside of the spring coil and then around the outside then get a lock and lock two chainlinks to prevent the spring from popping outghetto compressor

If you knew enough to know it requires a spring compressor you should be smart enough to know you are not superman and cannot do it yourself.This requires tremendous force and you don't have it.You can rent one; but if you are not mechanically inclined you may be in over your head and since it is a safety issue you might be better served getting it done correctly and saving your money somewhere else.

Yes,no need for spring compressor,just remove the control arm,hardest part is to remove and press in the new bushings.The coil spring stays with the strut.
