1999 Honda Accord LX 4cyl
122k miles I recently brought my car to the mechanic to get my CV boot fixed and because my check engine light was on. Well, conveniently enough I ended up paying about $950 to fix all this other bs they said was wrong. And, after taking the few seconds to hook up the ODB (and charing me $80 to do so), they told me it the light was related to my EVAP system. They said they needed to do an "EVAP Test" which costs $95 and might take some time to fix it. I needed my car, so I told them I'd bring it back for that. My question is...is there any way I can do this test myself? Is it something that can cause further damage the longer I wait to fix it? I have the complete Honda shop manual, and like to DIY when I have time.... |
