lately when ever i drive my accord i am going about 30 and then i will take my foot off the gas but the car will continue to accelerate, i then have to hit the brakes hard and pull over as soon as i pull over to the side i put my emergency brakes on then take the car from drive to park. once in the park position the car revs up to the red and then it calms down and thats it. i plan on taking it to a mechanic but can somebody here help with the problem so that way i know the mechanic isn't ripping me off.

Sounds like your throttle body needs cleaning.
