I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX my car has recently had an issue with the power door locks. When I try to lock or unlock the doors with either the keyless entry or the power door lock switch on the door, the driver's side lock seems to have trouble locking or unlocking. It almost appears as thought the lever is unable to move. . The passenger side door still locks and unlocks fine with the door lock. Additionally, the driver's side door may be locked by the key without a problem. Does anyone know what may be wrong? Also, recently the button that you push to open the gas tank stopped working too, if you pull it, it still openes the trunk, but pushing it doesnt open the gas tank. I have to do it manually. Not sure if they are all related or not. And yes, yesterday I replaced the battery in the remote!

Try checking the fuses and relays. Sometimes a bad fuse can cause all sorts of strange things to happen, depending upon how the car is wired. Fuses are cheap, I buy them by the dozen at Auto Zone and keep plenty on hand in my glove box. Relays are a little more complicated but are still relatively cheap to replace.

The door lock actuator on the drivers side is getting weak and needs to be replaced. A new one (depending on if you have a 2 or 4 door car) will be about $65-$100 for the part. The power lock actuator is what actually moves the door lock with power locks. When you use the key, you are moving the lock manually so the weak actuator is not a factor.

I have a 2005 Honda Civic SE. With my remote keyless entry I can unlock the doors, but I can't lock them remotely. I can still physically lock the door using my key. The interior automatic lock button also works. My car is only 3 years old and just past the warrenty.

How do I fix this?
