I installed a Pioneer CD player in my '01 Civic. There'd already had an after market CD player in it; and this is the second vehicle I've installed it in. My issue is this: the CD player is not powering up and my power locks have stopped working when the ignition is off. The power locks work when the car is running. And they worked just fine with the car off a few hours ago. But this isn't the only strange issue I've gotten electronic wise from this car. For example, when I set the ac/heat direction knob anywhere past the top three settings and cut it on, the AC button automatically comes on even if I'm using heat. It will not go off as long as it's blowing in certain settings. When I realized the lock issue I yanked a wire just to see if it made a difference. What I found out is that when the wires from the car to the stereo for the the radio switched 12V are connected, the button that recirculates the interior air automatically lights up. It happened twice. What could these issues be due to?Actually, I didn't splice into any additional wires. The only wires I cut were the ones that came with the Kenwood. I left the original install as it was connected the wires from the Kenwood directly to the wires for the Pioneer.

Your best bet is to uninstall your Pioneer CD Player. Then re-inspect your power door locks while the car is off. If it works back to normal, then there must be some wiring issues related to your Pioneer CD Player. If the power door locks still cannot function properly, I would suspect you may have some wires related to the power door locks shorting each other. Especially if the 12v meant for your radio sends power to your interior circulation indicator light. It can be tedious work but you would need an ohm meter to test connections with the wiring behind your front panel and perhaps under your dashboard for short circuits along the wires.Good luck!
