...prelude with the h22? i have the v-tech option and at 70 mph im at 3500 rpm and im sucking down gas im averaging like 22 mpg

Low RPMs = less gas used. Travel at a speed where your RPMs are lowest.

If you're in 5th gear at that speed, then that's all your going to get unless you slow down a little (to 65mph if that's the speed limit). If you're still in 4th gear then shift to 5th gear at that speed. Other than that, just do a tune up; plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, a dose of injector cleaner, air filter, etc. Changing out your catalytic converter may help also if it's old and clogged. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Remove any unnecessary stuff from the interior and trunk of your car. I'm not talking about stripping parts out, just random miscellaneous items that might be in there or stereo equipment. But honestly, that's about what your car is rated for; 20mpg city/ 24mpg highway. So you're really not going to see much of a reduction unless you take drastic measures; weight reductions or changing out the transmission for a longer geared one from another model (unless you have an SH model, in which case there isn't another transmission to change with).
