ive always wondered why these front wheel drive cars have large spoilers, i own a 99 dc2 integra which has the spoiler, but it seems as if all it does is take traction away from front wheels? if anyone can let me know why (apart from looking nice) they have them, much appreciated.

Your spoiler doesn't take traction away from your car, lmao.In order to have any downforce, or upforce, your vehicle would need to be moving in excess of 150 mph or so. This applies also, for aftermarket spoilers. A car simply does not displace enough air at low speeds, for there to be any effect from a spoiler mounted on the trunk.Stock spoilers are designed to be concurrent with the airstream that the car already produces. Not to produce any performance aspect, positive or negative. They have them, because someone at Acura decided the car would look nice with them on there. That's all.
